Industrial Source has always believed long-term success is built through accountability, consistency, and doing things the right way. As a multi-generational family-owned business, we take tremendous pride in the reputation we've built across the Pacific Northwest and the relationships we've maintained with our employees, customers, and partners over decades of operation. Safety is not simply a program within our organization, it is part of our culture and operational mindset. We value carrier partnerships that understand disciplined operators, long-term thinking, and organizations committed to responsible growth. We respect the responsibility our carrier partners take on when supporting our business, and we work hard every day to be an organization worthy of that trust.

The Company

Eighty years of operational excellence.

Eugene Welders, doing business as Industrial Source, is Oregon's largest independent and longest-running gas and welding supplier. Continuously local, family-led, and operating since 1945.

Industrial Source branded propane and cylinder facility exterior

Industrial Source runs eight Oregon locations and three company-owned fill plants, serving Manufacturing, Construction, Healthcare, Aerospace, Energy, and Government clients. Safety, quality, and accountability are built into every layer of the business.

Operations are anchored by an in-house ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited specialty gas laboratory, a DOT-recognized Ultrasonic Examination (UE) cylinder requalification facility under 49 CFR 180.209(g), and an Advanced Cylinder Management program that tracks every cylinder end-to-end. No competing independent supplier in Oregon matches the credential stack.

Ten percent of net income is donated annually to more than thirty Oregon nonprofits. The same operational discipline that defines the company's risk profile shows up in eight decades of community investment: long-horizon thinking, clear accountability, and stable ownership.

The Core Risk

Where the risk lives, our discipline shows.

Carriers price compressed gas distributors on fire and explosion exposure and products liability. Eighty years of compressed gas operations gave Industrial Source the runway to build proprietary infrastructure around exactly those risks. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited lab, in-house DOT-recognized UE cylinder requalification, and three company-owned fill plants. Underwriting evidence no competing broker is presenting.

Flammable and Oxidizer Separation

Acetylene, oxygen, propane, and hydrogen are stored per OSHA 1910.253 and NFPA 55 at every facility. Compliance documentation is reviewable on site.

Three Company-Owned Fill Plants

All product is filled in-house under automated safety systems. No third-party fills enter the supply chain. Quality control sits with Industrial Source from cylinder receipt through delivery.

Ultrasonic Examination (UE) Cylinder Requalification

Industrial Source operates an in-house UE cylinder requalification operation, recognized under 49 CFR 180.209(g) for aluminum and steel high-pressure cylinders. UE is faster than hydrostatic testing and does not require removing valves or contents, keeping cylinders moving efficiently through the requalification process. Inspections are performed by UT Level II/III certified technicians per ASNT SNT-TC-1A. Requalification stays in-house, fully DOT-compliant, with records available on request.

Advanced Cylinder Management

Every cylinder is barcoded, scanned, and tracked end-to-end across the supply chain. ACM gives both Industrial Source and any reviewing carrier full visibility into asset location, age, and last-test status.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited Gas Lab

Purity is verified before every delivery against the highest internationally recognized laboratory standard. Very few independent operators hold this credential. Industrial Source is the only one in Oregon's welding-supply segment.

Medical and Food Grade Gas Protocols

Full QC chain of custody is maintained on all medical and food grade product. Documentation supports both the products liability narrative and any direct carrier inquiry into the medical gas line.

Loss Controls

Safety culture, actively managed across eight locations.

For workers' compensation and general liability carriers, documented safety culture means lower frequency and lower severity. Eighty years of continuous operations is its own form of audit: programs that survive that long are programs that work. The HUB Risk Services annual audit confirms it on paper.

Welding and Gas-Handling Training

Welding processes, gas handling, and PPE programs run on a recurring cycle across all eight Oregon locations. Refreshed, not one-and-done.

Hot Work Permit Program

Fire Suppression Systems

Sprinklers documented on schedule at all locations, with inspection records available for review.

Ventilation and Gas Leak Monitoring

Active monitoring systems at fill plant locations, integrated with safety response protocols.

Incident Reporting and Near-Miss Tracking

Transportation & Employee Safety Leadership, Industrial Source

At Industrial Source, safety is ultimately about people. Whether it's our drivers on the road or employees throughout our operations, we believe every individual deserves to go home safely at the end of the day. From transportation safety and driver accountability to employee education and workplace awareness, we take a proactive approach to risk management throughout the organization. We believe strong safety performance starts with culture, clear expectations, and leadership commitment, not simply compliance. We continue to invest in our people, our training, and our operational discipline because protecting our employees ultimately protects the long-term strength of our business.

Fleet and Auto

Auto exposure, structurally minimized.

Auto is the leading distribution exposure for any compressed gas distributor. After eighty years of Oregon delivery operations, the fleet program is structural, not new. CDL and hazmat compliance, an Oregon I-5 corridor radius, and an in-house bulk delivery system substantially reduce both perceived and actual auto and cargo risk.

DOT-Licensed Bulk Tanker Fleet

A dedicated fleet of bulk tankers and delivery vehicles operates from every Oregon location. Composition and rotation schedule are documented in the fleet summary.

Annual MVR and CDL Verification

Every driver clears an annual motor vehicle record check and active CDL verification. Records are maintained centrally and reviewable on request.

Hazmat Endorsement Compliance

All drivers transporting compressed and cryogenic gas hold current hazmat endorsements. No exceptions, no expired-credential exposure.

Oregon I-5 Corridor Operating Radius

The operating footprint sits inside the Oregon I-5 corridor. That structurally reduces long-haul exposure and the overnight driver fatigue risk that drives the worst auto loss profiles in this class.

FMCSA Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspection

Inspection protocols are documented and audited per FMCSA 396.11 and 396.13. The paper trail supports both regulatory compliance and any carrier-side fleet review.

Proprietary Bulk and Microbulk Delivery

The bulk and microbulk delivery system is company-owned. Industrial Source handles installation, maintenance, and monitoring directly, keeping the operational risk inside the business rather than outsourced to a third-party carrier.

Compliance

Credentials that move the rate.

Carriers writing products liability for medical gas suppliers look for these credentials specifically. ISO/IEC 17025 is the gold standard. Very few independent operators hold it. The certification stack below is what separates Industrial Source from any peer presentation.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017

Accredited specialty gas laboratory. Only independent welding supply in Oregon with this credential.

PurityPlus Specialty Gases

National standard for specialty gas quality.

Food and Medical Grade Gas

Highest purity tier with full chain of custody.

UE Cylinder Requalification

DOT-recognized Ultrasonic Examination under 49 CFR 180.209(g). Records maintained in-house.

OSHA and NFPA 55

Compressed gas storage compliance at all 8 facilities.

EPA Compliance

Cryogenic and specialty gas operations.

Community Investment

Eighty years of operational success rooted in community responsibility.

For eighty years, Industrial Source has believed that strong businesses have a responsibility to strengthen the communities they serve. That commitment remains active today, with ten percent of annual net income reinvested into local nonprofits, workforce development, youth programs, and community organizations across Oregon. Community investment is not a marketing initiative at Industrial Source, it reflects the same long-term thinking, accountability, and stewardship that guide the company's operations, employees, and customer relationships.

10%
of net income donated annually to thirty-plus Oregon nonprofits.

Continuous since the company's founding in 1945. Tracked publicly. Same family ownership across three generations.

Named Community Partners

Annual giving to Relief Nursery, Habitat for Humanity, Lane Community College, the University of Oregon, and more than thirty additional Oregon nonprofits.

Paid Employee Volunteer Hours

Employees are paid for volunteer time in the community. A formal program, not a quarterly press release. Investment in culture beyond compliance.

Eighty Years of Continuous Local Ownership

The same family-led ownership DNA since 1945. No private equity recapitalization, no out-of-state holding company. Decisions still made in Eugene.

Active in the Eugene and Springfield Business Community

Eugene Education Association, regional chamber, ongoing civic relationships. Visible community presence at the leadership level.

Three Generations of Operational Discipline

The same operational discipline that defines the risk profile shows up in eight decades of community investment. Long-horizon thinking is the through-line.

Industrial Source Leadership

The people accountable for operational safety and risk management.

Risk management at Industrial Source is structured and intentional. Named personnel carry day-to-day accountability for the systems, processes, and operational standards described throughout this presentation.

Let's Talk

A risk any carrier would be fortunate to write.

Industrial Source exemplifies what underwriters seek in a client. Eighty years of operational excellence, ISO-certified quality, and ownership invested in safety and community. The certified gas lab, in-house UE cylinder requalification, ACM tracking, and proactive fleet management eliminate the risk factors that typically define this industry class. Insuring Industrial Source is not simply a sound business decision. It is an opportunity to partner with Oregon's most established, most accountable, and most trusted industrial supplier.
